Winning form for Nizam's Al Mouhannah at Newbury 

Umm Qarn stallion progeny were well represented at the International meeting in UK on 10th August 2014 at Newbury in UK.

In the opening race, the Emirates Airline Premier Handicap Stakes, Darifa, (by Majd al Arab) just missed out on a win by a neck to Toutatix. In the second race of the day, Al Shahania's Radwah, by veteran Umm Qarn stallion Amer and full sister to Arabian World Cup winner Mkeefa, was third in the Group 2 Emirates Equestrian Federation International Stakes.

It was Umm Qarn stallion Nizam's day however when Al Mouhannad (Nizam/Al Ryme), owned by the Royal Cavalry of Oman, won the Group 1 Jebel Ali Racecourse Zaabeel International Stakes for the second year running. Al Mouhannad has now won two group 1 races and been placed in another. The 'Zaabeel' was won by Nizam himself in 2004 and Umm Qarn have won the race 10 times since 1996 and Umm Qarn stallions have sired the winner three times since 2011.

Nizam's Djarnizam Maamora (ex Djarnila Lotoise) was placed third in the Zaabeel.

In the Group 1 Shadwell Arabian Stallions Hatta International Stakes Samimaa by Umm Qarn-bred stallion Dahess was second with another Nizam progeny Farh, fourth. In the Group 1 Shadwell Stud Dubai International Stakes over 1m 2f, Dahess-sired DjetTaouy was second and Al Anga (by Umm Qarn's Amer) was third.
